Side view of the same blue wreck under cedars, a striped door hanging open against the body and the rear wheel arch empty. Rust and moss have eaten through much of the paint. — 02 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

Looking into the gutted cabin through the bent windshield frame: a bare dashboard, pedals and a moss-covered floor littered with leaves. Shreds of headliner hang from the roof. — 03 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

Close-up of a tangle of coloured wires, white plug connectors and a black relay lying on moss and leaves in the wreck. The loose harness shows how completely the car has been pulled apart. — 04 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

Looking into the stripped shell of a rusted car body from the rear, with the bench seat frame still standing inside and a sapling growing up beside it. Lichen and fallen leaves fill what used to be the cabin. — 10 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

A yellow fender with an empty headlight bowl, blistered with rust, rests against a lichen-covered body panel behind a pitted bumper. Evergreens and a cloudy sky frame the wreck. — 11 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

A moss-covered engine block sits in the grass with rainwater pooled in an open cylinder, while a row of rusted exhaust ports rises behind it. The mechanical heart of the car is slowly turning into ground cover. — 12 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

12 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

Close-up of rusted exhaust manifold ports poking up through dry grass, crusted with lichen and bright green moss. The round openings look almost like open mouths. — 13 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

Inside the collapsed cabin, rust-eaten roof metal hangs over exposed seat springs and a ribbed green panel, with a nest of dead leaves caught in the middle. Sunlight leaks through the holes in the roof. — 14 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

An amber turn-signal lens, cracked but still screwed in place, hangs from a perforated steel bracket speckled with yellow lichen and moss. Flecks of blue paint cling to its broken housing. — 15 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

15 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro

A rusted steel panel with patches of peeling blue paint and yellow lichen fills the frame against a grey, cloudy sky over a blurred open field. The last traces of the car's colour are flaking away. — 16 / 16shot on Pixel 8 Pro
