The bare concrete front of an unfinished two-storey house under a grey sky, its curved balcony empty and window openings half bricked up. Sawhorses and cinder blocks still sit in the doorway as if the builders just stepped out. — 01 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

The unfinished concrete shell seen from a corner of its dirt lot, towering over a rubble slope with eucalyptus trees behind. A torn flag flutters on a rebar pole on the roof. — 02 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

An empty upstairs room with a rough block ceiling, sawhorses in front of half-bricked windows and a neat stack of orange bricks against the wall. The job was left mid-task. — 03 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

A dim concrete hallway ends in a wide opening onto a walled courtyard and trees. Old formwork planks lean against the wall and a coil of copper pipe sags in the doorway. — 04 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

A bare room with a cast concrete counter and sink cut-out where a kitchen was meant to go. PVC pipe offcuts and a trowel are still on the counter. — 05 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

Two tall empty window openings frame the view from the upper floor: a neighbour's tiled roof, cornfields and misty eucalyptus hills. The raw concrete frame makes the finished houses outside look like another world. — 06 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

A cantilevered concrete slab juts over a mossy sunken courtyard, walled in by cinder block and pale eucalyptus. Poles and rebar lie across the half-built balcony. — 07 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

A bare concrete balcony runs along the unfinished upper floor, looking out over eucalyptus slopes and a misty valley. The raw grey shell framed against open hillside sets the half-built mood of the house. — 08 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

A tall cinder-block retaining wall encloses an empty yard beside the house, with a small pile of stones at its foot and coiled rebar on the slab. Eucalyptus trees crowd in above the unfinished boundary. — 09 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

A mossy back courtyard is boxed in by block walls and a cut earth bank, with loose bricks, a leaning wooden pole and a black tarp draped over a low wall. Construction simply stopped here and the ground is taking over. — 10 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

From the open roof slab, a low block parapet looks over cornfields and scattered village houses under a heavy grey sky. Loose blocks, rubble and cables lie across the unfinished roof. — 11 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

The flat concrete roof stretches toward a eucalyptus-covered hill, with rebar sprouting from unfinished columns and rubble heaped in the corner. The next storey was planned but never built. — 12 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra

A bare rooftop corner with a lone rebar column cage faces tall eucalyptus trees and a hazy town far below in the valley. The unfinished house sits high on the slope, looking out over everything. — 13 / 13shot on Galaxy S21 Ultra
