A double-height living room with a tall brick chimney, a stone wall with an open staircase and two floral sofas amid fallen plaster. The house still looks furnished, as if its owners simply walked away. — 02 / 12shot on Pixel 8 Pro

A dark brown bedroom with a hole torn in the ceiling, a weight bench, two fans and a heap of artificial garland on the debris-strewn carpet. Green leaves press against the window, showing how far the grounds have grown in. — 09 / 12shot on Pixel 8 Pro

Looking across a wooden banister from the upstairs landing toward a gallery and a small bright window, with torn ceiling and punched walls. Below, an open doorway lets the overgrown yard spill light into the stairwell. — 10 / 12shot on Pixel 8 Pro

A wide picture window framed in wood, filled edge to edge with dense shrubs and saplings under an evening sky. The stripped baseboard beneath it shows the house slowly being taken apart while nature closes in. — 11 / 12shot on Pixel 8 Pro

Looking down through an open floor hatch at a steep wooden stair descending into a flooded cellar, a red lamp glowing above black water and floating debris. The drowned basement is one of the most unsettling corners of the house. — 12 / 12shot on Pixel 8 Pro
